There is hardly anyone in the world who does not know about Cristiano Ronaldo. He is the captain of the Portuguese national football team and has played for several of the world's strongest football clubs. Meanwhile, Manchester United in England, Real Madrid in Spain and Juventus in Italy are very special.

The five-time Ballon d`Or winner holds the record for most international goals scored last month. He signed a new contract with Manchester United on 1 September 2021. That was after he left the Juventus team in Italy where he had previously played. Today we bring to you the talents he previously showed when he was part of the Manchester United team from 2003 to 2009.

2003-2004 season

When Ronaldo signed with Manchester United in 2003, he became Manchester United 's first Portuguese footballer. His fee was .2 12.2 million and he was the most expensive young player in English football history at the time. He asked for his jersey number 28 from the Portuguese sports team (Sporting Club de Portugal), but he received the No. 7 jersey previously worn by Manchester United players such as George Best, Eric Cantona and David Beckham.

Wearing the No. 7 was an added motivation for Ronaldo. Coach Sir Alex Ferguson was a key factor in his development during his time in England, saying he was "my father in sports. He was the most important and powerful factor in my career".

Ronaldo played in the Premier League for the first time on 16 August 2003 with a 4-0 win over Bolton Wanderers. He did well as a substitute. His style of play was praised by George Best, who hailed it as "the most intriguing wedding scene he had ever seen."

He also received his first red card in the final day of the 2003/2004 season against Aston Villa. Ronaldo won his first trophy in the 2004 FA Cup final against Millwall 3-0 and also finished his first season in the English Premier League.

Ronaldo played two of his best games of the 2004/2005 season and scored a goal against Aston Villa. He scored twice against Arsenal. In the 2005 FA Cup final, Arsenal played 120 minutes against the team, which ended in a goalless draw. Despite Ronaldo's success in the penalty shootout, Manchester United lost 5-4.

In mid-November, he signed a new contract that extended his previous contract by two years, until 2010. Ronaldo won his second trophy, the "Football League Trophy", scoring against Wigan Athletic.

Ronaldo was involved in several events during his third Premier League match in England. He was banned by the European Football Association (UEFA) for displaying a "one-fingered gesture" to Benfica fans. Manchester City footballer Andy Cole was kicked out of the Manchester Derby. 2006-07 proved to be Ronaldo's first cut-off year.

He went beyond 20 goals for the first time and won his first Premier League title. He recorded three consecutive wins against Aston Villa, Wigan and Reading at the end of December. Ronaldo was named the monthly Premier League Player of the Year in November and December and became the third player to be honored continuously. Manchester United's governing body has filed a complaint with FIFA over Real Madrid's pursuit of Ronaldo, but they have refused to take action. FIFA President Jep Blatter has called for the player to be allowed to leave his club, and forcing him to remain in power is "modern slavery". Although Ronaldo publicly agreed with Jep Blatter's statement, he played another year at Manchester United.
